Over the weekend we decided to finally get on the ball with things around the house that we have been wanting to do for some time now, and by “things around the house” we mean paint. Paint paint paint. It was a cold and dreary weekend so it seemed like the perfect oppurtinity to get stuff DONE.
We went to Lowes and got paint for the living room and front door, and two different color stains for the front porch/steps.
We want to show you guys what we did but we are saving all of those photos for our house tour page which should be up shortly. But you can rest assure there was a lot oh white paint going on the walls because of course.
After we painted the front door, we started staining the front porch but didn’t get too far on account of the rain that came pouring down, so we came inside and started painting the living room while watching “Green Card”, a 90’s classic that seemed more appealing than the other random movies that come on on Sunday afternoons. Have ya’ll seen it? It has a gorgeous apartment that we couldn’t take our eyes off of. It also features some killer 90’s music that simply can’t be missed.
Oh yeah! We also stopped by one of our local Habitat stores here in town and found the most amazing old front door. It was love at first site, as you can see.
While it doesn’t necessarily go with the style of our current home, we plan to build our dream cottage in the future and it is the exact style and feel that we want for that house. Why can’t the future be today already?!
On a different yet equally satisfying note, on Monday night we discovered a new recipe that might just be our favorite thing ever. It’s called One Pan Sausage and Tortellini and you can make it in 30 minutes. Besides the fact that it took forever to actually find the tortellini at the grocery store, it was a very easy and fun dinner to make. We poured some wine, put on a little Frank Sinatra, and cooked our hearts out.
You can find the recipe here!
These are our favorite kind of nights. Where it is us at home with Jolie, eating dinner and just relaxing. There was some Nat King Cole and lots of dancing. It made a Monday night feel like a Friday.
Now it’s time for Ellen’s Design Challenge! Are ya’ll watching too?
